David W. McDuff
Founder of Classifieds Plus, Inc.
1948-2007
David McDuff was a "serial entrepreneur", who was the inspiration behind Classifieds Plus and numerous other businesses that provided livelihoods and opportunities for hundreds of Buffalo's citizens.
David was named "Citizen of the Year" by the Buffalo News for his establishment of a works program to teach disadvantaged young people marketable skills, and improve Buffalo's housing stock.
When Roswell Park cancer hospital asked for help to promote their "Paint Box fundraising project" that marketed holiday card artwork of young cancer patients, David volunteered the services of Classifieds Plus, whose employees gladly do their part to generate many thousands of dollars in orders for the hospital each holiday season.
David introduced many innovative ideas to the newspaper publishing industry including voice personals, outsourcing of advertising services, and 24 hour / 365 day advertising sales. He was also a former co-publisher of Buffalo Spree magazine.
David's secrets of success were simple: he believed in making it easy for customers to do business, and held the philosophy that "changing your thinking can change your reality", because he felt that anyone could change their lives or their companies by looking at things differently.
